Mom Power

Last week I was cowardly attacked by a common cold, that sneaked up on me from behind. I spend one day in bed, and the rest of the week in a state of unravel. Because the household has to go on.

Whenever I get a cold I realize: this parenting thing requires 100% of a person. And when I've got a cold I'm at 80% at best. So our house slowly but surely gets messier, dishes stay stacked in the sink, and the kids watch way too much television. All because I don't have all my Mom Power.

But today I made a comeback. Though not entirely at 100%, 'surely, I thought 'I'll be at 95% Mom Power. So I ran the school run again. But if my heart rate was any indication, 95% percent was a bit optimistic. Even though my sons almost fell off their bikes from going slow enough for me to keep up, my Polar FT4 kept beeping, telling me I was definitely not 'in the zone'.

So physically speaking this was not a very good run, but on a psychological level it felt great. Going for my first run in a week, made me feel like Me again.

I'm sure my Running Power will do wonders for my Mom Power

Dirty, sneaky cold - attacking you when you weren't watching. I hope your improvement continues so your watch stops beeping.

When moms down and out, everything goes to pot! Glad you are on the mend.

Glad to hear you are on the mend! Being a sick mom is pretty rough as none of responsibilities really go away...they just pile up (like the dirty dishes and laundry)! Hope you are back to 100% soon. :)
