My 5 favorite running songs

October 17, 2014
Music helps me run!

It keeps me going. It motivates me, and stimulates me. Sometimes I take a walking break. But then a certain song comes along, and I can't hélp but break into a trot!

This Friday Five's theme is Favorite Fitness Tunes.

So here are mine!

Is this the way to Amarillo? (Tony Christie)

It's hard to keep still while listening to this song? And I love the question! Is this the way?

You sexy thing, you! (Hot Chocolate)

Whenever I hear this song, I pull back my shoulders, and I can't help but gently sway my hips! I like to imagine they're talking to me!

I was born to run, Emmylou Harris

I always feel like a bit of a fraud when I listen to this song. Because I'm not a fast runner. And I don't look like I was born to run. But I still like to run to this song!

Sometimes the answer is no, Brad Paisley

Now this song does nothing for my speed. But I just love the story!

Love done gone, Billy Currington

This one does make me run faster! And again, I love the story it tells.

  1. I don't know if I could run to some of these songs. I tend to listen to high energy pop and hip hop music. Even though I don't listen to that genre normally, but everyone is different. These are great songs though. I have a couple on my iPod already.

  5. Nice.

I listen to a lot of musicals when I walk. I can't run, or else I'd fall over.
