He was always whining and complaining and wanting me to go slower or take a break. In the end I just snapped and said: 'You know what? I don't want you to be my running mate anymore! Go take a hike!'
But this running mate didn't recognize rejection when he was rejected, and kept following me wherever I ran. So I ran a little bit faster, and faster, and faster in an attempt to shake him off, but he stuck to me like glue.
I never ran so fast in my life and even broke my personal record. So then I thought: 'Wait a minute! He's actually the perfect running mate: he really pushes me to my limit and helps me improve my pace. So what if he's a total whiner.'
So we reconciled and shook hands and now we run together again.
Me and my mind.
