School run

running

Every Thursday morning I take the children to school in my running clothes. It is of course, unfortunate people have to see me in tight lycra, but there you go.

I don't trust myself to leave the house again if I go home to change first.

Besides they don't call it the 'school run' for nothing, do they?

Are you going out for a run... again?!

Every week my son Piets teacher looks me up and down and asks in incredulous tones: 'Are you going out for a run... again?!'
Insert timid nod from me.

'But you're sooo skinny already!' she continues.

I love Thursday mornings : )

Do you feel comfortable doing the school run in lycra?

I often do the school run in lycra. Im sure the teachers love my neon yellow leggings and very snazzy running shoes.Could be worse we could turn up in our PJ's !!!!! #justanotherlinky

I don't run in Lycra (the world is just not ready for that sight ) but I do get home from work, throw on my very old and tatty running gear, run a bit then go collect the kids, who like to tell me loudly "mummy you're all sweaty and red again" when I collect them! Love their honesty! #justanotherlinky

I'm pretty sure that no one wants to see me in Lycra, but well done you for going on a run! I'm really impressed as I'd love to have the impetus to run - and I definitely agree that lycra is a better look than PJ's!! #justanotherlinky

Hi,
If running gives you joy and is not hurting your health, do it, I say.
Thanks for bringing your post to Blogger's Pit Stop last week.

If you can wear it why not!!

I don't get time alone to exercise ever, if I did I would be rocking it too!

Thanks for sharing at #bloggerspotlight! Don't forget to come link up tomorrow night and see who got featured!

You can wear anything you want! This is the beauty of freedom! :) Although, you'd never catch me running! #FridayFrivolity

Maybe because you were 'on fire'?!

I agree! Showing up in lycra at least shows we made an effort.

Nicole Orriëns said...

Well, at least you show them how it's done! And how to live a healthy lifestyle.

Even if I don't have the impetus to run, I still make myself run. Because I know it's only 30 minutes of my time and I'll feel better afterwards.

You're welcome.
