When I’ve got my period, I always feel like my pelvic muscles turn into mush. I used to welcome this as an excuse to skip my runs, but the years went by, and somehow I turned into a runner. I hate skipping runs now. Who would have thunk it? Not me, I can tell you!
Anyway, when I got my period on Monday, I knew I would be feeling it the most on Tuesday, so I told myself: ‘Be wise, and skip your Tuesday run. That way your pelvic muscles get a break, and your uterus won’t fall out.’ Having scared the hell out of myself, I did not go running.
And it was sooo hard! As hard as it sometimes is to get myself out the door, it’s even harder to stay in! All day Tuesday I felt like something was missing, and several times I had to physically restrain myself to prevent me running out the door.
But now it’s Thursday, and I’ve got my running shoes on. The world is right again.
