I'm dead broke. I have 26 cents in my bank account and about 30 cents in my savings account. Things are not looking good, yet I feel quite optimistic. 'Cause I just came back from a good run.
And one of the greatest things about the sport of running is that it doesn't cost anything! Whatever happens, no matter how bad my finances are, I can always go for my run. The opportunity is just out there, waiting for me. As I run out the door, Mother Nature gives me a welcoming smile and shows me all her good stuff. She holds me in her tender embrace and shows me what's really important.
And as I run along I just shrug at the thought of my tight finances and think: 'Who cares as long as the important stuff is free!'
Like love and running.

I couldn't agree more. One of the reasons I love running is the simple nature of it. Put on the shoes and head out. No expensive equipment, no need to pay a gym fee. Running always gives me the persepctive that everything will be okay. And it will.
As they say, the best things in life are free. I am broke too but I don't let the thought stress me out. I'm not running but I'm into stitching. It's a good stress buster too. :)
i agree!
and smiling, too. :)
Our finances are in a crunch too. I wish the economy would pick up a notch. Keep your chin up things are bound to get better. Thanks for stopping by.
As long as you've got your morning coffee or OJ, and a warm house and food, it's all good.
I hear you on this! I don't have much in the bank, buit I always feel great after a run too.
Great post! :)
Hi there! I just found your blog and look forward to reading more! Yep...I consider running my free therapy. :)
Money is so slim this days. I hope everything gets better for all of us soon.

I agree with the others..money is tight but so is my brain until I get out there and clear my head.
I love your positivity!
By the way, I "tagged" you over at my blog. Stop by and check it out when you get a chance.
sooo true!!!! great outlook! The hubby and I always say that. We say that about surfing too! once you buy the board and wetsuit and you live near the beach it costs nothing to go down and catch a few waves... the best!
Fantastic outlook!
I prefer walking, but the premise is the same ;)
What a wonderful and HEALTHY way to look at life. I just started running again and it makes me feel so good. It's cold here, so I use the treadmill, but still, I love it.
I think you entered my thoughts!! I too am dead broke-just paid the mort. by the skin of my teeth and have 6 dollars left. I will take a long run this afternoon and all will be fine. I would be affected negatively if i couldn't run! The truth is all we have is our health! And i am grateful for mine (and that of my childrens')
