As if running isn't hard enough!

My Thursday work-out is a 6 miles bike ride into town, and then 6 miles home again. I prefer running, but the promise of a cup of coffee once I've biked my way into town keeps me going.

I'm not a big fan of riding a bike. Especially when there's a strong wind ánd it's raining. Because then I have to wear my stupid rain cape. It's very big, and apart from keeping me dry it also catches the wind. And that's not a good thing, because it makes pedaling really hard.

So I was quite surprised to see a product which does the same thing for runners: hinder them. It's called a Speed Resistance Training Parachute. You have to fork over 20 bucks to make running even harder than it already is. You attach the chute to your waist, and you run for it. Or not. Because it will catch the wind and provide 'excellent resistance'. This is one product I'm not tempted to buy.

Besides I have an alternative that is wáy cheaper: kids clinging to my legs.

Good for you for riding in the wind and rain!! I don't like either of those things, and would probably skip riding if it was raining.

Yes, but I skipped riding my bike I wouldn't get my cup of coffee! It's all a matter of finding the right 'bait'!

Great picture! My daughter has been known to cling to my legs to stop me leaving! Running in wind and rain is definitely better than trying to cycle in it.

Yes the children on the legs is much cheaper - that gave me a good giggle.

I think I have a pic like this in the attic somewhere when my kids were little! Too cute! Enjoy!
