running break

When Jeff Galloway introduced his revolutionary run-walk-method the world of running trembled from shock. Who would have thought you could alternate running with walking! Most runners certaintly didn't.
In fact most runners consider taking a walking break as a big fat failure!

But let's not stop there! Brace yourself for the introduction of my new, revolutionary, patented Run-Walk-Have-a-Cup-of-Coffee-Technique©!

With this technique the runner alternates running and walking for an hour and then ducks into the nearest Starbucks. Here, he or she sits down and enjoys a nice, hot cup of coffee, thereby greatly reducing chances of injury and such.

All caffeinated and buoyed up the runner then proceeds to run home, and finds the road home has miraculously become shorter.

The benefits of this technique!

Thanks to this great technique I can now run a 10 miler! Quite something for someone who used to run three kilometers in half an hour and then took up residence on the couch for the rest of the day.

This technique is also very helpful if you're a mom. When the going gets tough, take a break and have a coffee!

I like it ... it could really catch on! Better than the run-walk-dash-desperately-to-the-public-restroom technique I've been known to use. :-)

Love it! But I think I'd probably just ditch the running, keep the walking and the coffee!!

Haha, I love it! I am terrible at run/walking. A lot of my friends use it, but I may actually try it again once I'm cleared to run again. The stopping for coffee part that I could definitely do. Yeah for the 10 miles! That's a great accomplishment!

I'm more of a stationary bike girl (or at least a wannabe) but I think I could use the same technique. :)

Can’t beat this! There’s a local race I do with a Starbucks about 1/2 mile before the finish line. As much as I love my Starbucks, I’ve never ducked in during a race, but people do!

Oh, that sounds very appealing Coco! I'm smiling when I read that people actually duck in there during a race : )

I'm more of a walk to the coffee shop with the dog, type of person, not sure I could run anyway.
Thanks for joining in with #pocolo
